WHAT IS AUTOINTOXICATION?
Autointoxication, or “self poisoning” occurs when the colon is clogged. According to the National Cancer Institute, in 2009 there were 106,100 new cases of colon cancer and 40,870 new cases of rectal cancer. The total deaths from rectal and colon combined in 2009 were 49,920. Healthy colon, Healthy YOU!!
Colon Cancer is the fourth most common cancer in males (skin (nonmelanoma), lung, prostate, colon. In women, it is also the fourth leading cause of cancer (skin (nonmelanoma), lung, breast, colon). We know in colon cancer that healthy cells in the colon become altered and become unhealthy cells and multiple in an unhealthy way. There have been two inherited gene mutations identified that increase your risk of colon cancer. The two inherited colon cancer syndromes are FAMILIAL ADENOMATOUS POLYPOSIS (FAP) AND HERETARY NONPOLYPOSIS COLORECTAL CANCER (HNPCC).
Leading health practioners consider autointoxication to be the underlying reason for all D-I-S-E-A-S-E or DIS-EASE.

WHAT CAUSES COLON PROBLEMS?
Improper diet, insufficient exercise, stress, overeating and ignoring the “call of nature” causes most colon problems. Most of us have eaten 10-40 years of refined, processed, fried and overcooked foods. Eating mucous producing foods such as meat, dairy products and flour, cause dense, sticky bowel movements. When they are expelled, they leave behind a glue like coating on the wall of the colon. If you have a bowel movement and after you flush have “runners” in the toilet, this is the glue like coating sticking to the toilet. This can accumulate, layer by layer, into a black hard rubbery crust. The body cannot eliminate these layers of hardened mucous on its own. They are often carried for the duration of the person’s life, as a toxic burden.
This toxic burden leads to a multitude of health issues.

HOW TO CLEAN THE COLON?
Colon cleansing is simple through colon irrigation. Colon irrigation is an internal bath that helps cleanse the colon of poisons, gas and accumulated matter. There is little discomfort. The gentle flow of water washes the inner colon walls. You may be surprised to see food you have not eaten for several weeks.

SIDE EFFECTS TO COLON IRRIGATION?
You may experience abdominal cramping during “releases”, facial flushing, nausea or a headache during or after the session. Toxins that have been dormant in the colon are now being flushed out of your system and this is normal.

DO ENEMAS DO THE SAME THING?
An enema uses very little water compared to colon irrigation. 1-2 quarts in an enema versus 5-10 gallons in colon irrigation. An enema will reach 8-10 inches max into your colon while colon irrigation will rinse your entire colon-about 5 ½ feet. Colon irrigation allows you to lie on your back in a much more comfortable position so you are able to relax and massage your colon. Using an enema is better than nothing if you are constipated but is not effective for the use of colon cleansing. Using an enema is like trying to wash your car with one glass of water…you’ll run out of water before you finish!

IS THERE A SMELL DURING THE ROCEDURE?
Uptown Colon Hydrotherapy uses the Toxygen FDA registered equipment. This system is considered a “closed system”. This means that the tubing that is used is disposable after each use, the water is ultra-filtered through four filters and then through a UV light, and the machine is cleaned with hospital grade antimicrobial solution. The system is a “one way” system and therefore it is not possible for contamination from one person to another.

WILL I SEE WHAT COMES OUT?
